Did you know dementia can be prevented in at least 50% of cases?

Why I started…

Dr. Liv
MD, MSc, FRCPC

Geriatrician & Internist
Founder of Aldora Health

“I was starting to witness what I thought was impossible — people weren’t just maintaining their cognitive scores. They were getting better.”

Dementia is preventable in many cases and mild symptoms can sometimes be reversed if risk factors are caught early and fixed.

Yet most people never find out what they can do to improve their brain health. The information is scattered across the internet, obscured by over-hyped products, or a referral to a dementia specialist like myself takes too long to happen.

This missed opportunity is not from a lack of trying. Most of my patients had searched online, asked other doctors, and often tried numerous home remedies or expensive supplements, hoping that something would help.

What they needed was a personalized understanding of the risk factors that can affect brain health — and practical guidance on how to optimize each one.

That’s why I created Aldora Health a health education company dedicated to making accurate and practical information on brain health available outside my clinic.

Over the years, I’ve seen many patients stabilize their cognition, improve their cognitive testing, or simply gain peace of mind knowing they were taking meaningful steps to protect their brain health.

My hope is that the information you’ll find here will help you do the same. Most steps can be taken on your own or with the support of your primary care provider.

What Aldora Believes

  • Person walking on a fallen log in a forest.

Health is the ability to live and experience life in alignment with who you are.

The role of health information is to help you build your lifestyle with intention and purpose for your unique goals and dreams. There is no one right way — there are multiple paths and a physician’s role is to help you find the one that’s best for you.

    Health is optimized through balance.

Too much and too little of something are equally harmful. To optimize health we must find the sweet spot in between. Every action, choice, or target is on a spectrum — finding balance for you in particular is what personalized medicine is all about.

The secret to a long life is "Living Medicine"

Life is all about connection. To achieve our best health as we age we need habits that are connected to the world around us. Instead of focusing on optimizing isolated biomarkers, focus on real-world activities that engage multiple parts of your mind, body, and spirit.
